Rooted in Community. Reaching Beyond Our Borders.
Liberty Oaks is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring hope to individuals and families impacted by sudden loss, particularly suicide. Founded by Stephanie Kaeberlein following the loss of her husband, Chris, in 2022, Liberty Oaks was born from lived experience and shaped by a deep commitment to helping others find support, connection, and a path forward after loss.
While our home base is located on a peaceful 20 acre homestead in Franklinton, North Carolina, our mission extends far beyond the boundaries of our property. Through support initiatives, educational opportunities, workshops, retreats, community outreach, and future programs, Liberty Oaks equips individuals and families to Connect, Heal, Grow, and Thrive.
As Liberty Oaks continues to grow, we are building partnerships, developing resources, and creating new opportunities to support families and communities impacted by loss. By bringing together volunteers, community leaders, churches, businesses, and supporters, Liberty Oaks is building a network of care that helps families find hope, restoration, and encouragement for the journey ahead.
Liberty Oaks also partners with businesses, organizations, and community leaders who want to invest in the well-being of their teams through retreats, workshops, educational programs, and experiences designed to foster connection, resilience, personal growth, and healthier workplace cultures.
At Liberty Oaks, the individuals and families we serve are known as Grove Families. This is not a program or membership. It is the name we use to describe the people at the heart of our mission... those navigating sudden loss, grief, trauma, and the journey that follows.
Like a grove of oak trees, we are stronger together.
Beneath the surface, the roots of an oak grove grow deep and interconnected, supporting one another in ways that are often unseen. We believe healing happens much the same way... through connection, community, and compassionate support.
No one should have to walk this road alone.
Liberty Oaks exists to walk alongside individuals and families impacted by sudden loss and the grief and trauma that often follow by providing opportunities for connection, practical support, and healing-centered experiences. Through outreach, education, community engagement, and restorative programs, we strive to help families find hope, encouragement, and meaningful support for the journey ahead.
We envision a future where every individual and family impacted by sudden loss has access to the care, resources, and community they need to move forward with hope. By strengthening partnerships, expanding support initiatives, and developing innovative programs, Liberty Oaks seeks to create lasting pathways toward healing, restoration, and meaningful connection.
As Liberty Oaks continues to grow, we remain open to expanding opportunities that support individuals and families navigating other forms of grief, loss, and life's difficult seasons.
Creating Opportunities for Healing: Liberty Oaks creates spaces where individuals and families impacted by sudden loss can find encouragement, understanding, and practical support as they navigate the challenges that follow.
Connecting Families with Resources: Liberty Oaks is not a counseling practice or clinical treatment provider. When specialized support is needed, we work collaboratively with trusted professionals and community partners to help connect individuals and families with appropriate resources and services.
Building a Stronger Network of Support: By bringing together organizations, professionals, churches, businesses, volunteers, and supporters, we help strengthen the network of care available to individuals and families navigating sudden loss and the grief and trauma that often follow.
The impact of sudden loss extends far beyond the moment a life is lost. Families often face emotional, financial, and practical challenges while navigating the difficult days, months, and years that follow. Liberty Oaks seeks to provide meaningful support through resources, experiences, and relationships that help individuals and families move forward with strength, encouragement, and renewed purpose. Through community, faith, and love, we help create pathways toward hope and restoration.
