Summer Clean Up Day, June 14

Liberty Oaks Landscaping Volunteer Day with Cedar Oaks Clinic

Date: June 14h, 2025
Time: 9-11am

Join us for a community clean-up day at Liberty Oaks as we prepare the land for the next beautiful season — and take some big steps toward bringing our Therapeutic Healing Garden to life!

We’ll be working on a variety of outdoor projects — from clearing brush and edging walkways to transplanting rose bushes and assembling rain barrels. Whether you stay for an hour or the whole day, your help makes a meaningful difference.

“My vision is grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity for radical transformation. Liberty Oaks is a testament to resilience, vulnerability, and the enduring human spirit. I invite people to join us on a journey of self-discovery, to find solace, to learn, and to grow.”

Here's what to know before you come

Bathrooms & Break Area
The downstairs bathrooms inside the house will be open for use. A cooler with ice and bottled water will be on the front porch, along with a trash can. You’re welcome to hang out and rest on the porch throughout the day.

Friendly Dog Alert
Our sweet dog Lily, a retriever mix, may be around to say hello. Let us know if that’s an issue for anyone.

What to Bring

  • Work gloves

  • Long pants and sleeves (to protect against brush, briars, or poison ivy)

  • Water bottle, hat, and insect repellent

  • Sturdy shoes/boots

  • Any yard tools you’d like to bring (pruners, shears, trimmers, etc.)

We also have plenty of tools on-site (including tractors, blowers, and more) for folks to use, plus a first aid kit just in case.

Liability Waiver

Before we get started with our Summer Clean-Up Day, we ask that all participants sign a general liability waiver. Please enter your name and email on the form, and I’ll personally send the waiver over to you. It only takes a minute to review and sign — and helps us keep everything running smoothly and safely.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the land. Your help truly means the world!

Parking

A sign will be posted at the top of the driveway. Please park on the grass to the left, just before the driveway circle in front of the house.

These tasks are just a guide — there’s no pressure to get everything done. They reflect what we’re hoping to tackle, but even small contributions go a long way.

Come as you are, lend a hand where you can, and know that every bit of help is deeply appreciated!

Tasks List

Therapeutic Garden Area:

  • Mark garden layout with stakes & string

  • Clear debris and load into trailer

  • Stack bricks for reuse

  • Assemble rain barrels

  • Transplant rose bushes

General Grounds:

  • Create a burn pile from sticks and limbs

  • Trim small trees and dead branches

  • Mow, weed, and edge around the house

  • Clean up memorial garden

  • Fill porch planters with provided plants

Therapeutic Garden Site

This is the future site of the Therapeutic Healing Garden! The photo below shows the view looking toward the house — construction debris on the left needs to be cleared and loaded into the trailer (pictured on the right) for a dump run. Clearing this space is one of the first big steps in bringing the garden to life!
